SOUS

Terms of Use

EFFECTIVE AUGUST 27, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Sous iPhone app, made by Ryan Allred ("we"). By using Sous you agree to them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

What Sous does

Sous converts recipes you provide into structured, guided cooking steps using AI (OpenAI), stores them in your private library, and guides you through cooking them. AI output can contain mistakes — always use your own judgment on cooking times, temperatures, and food safety, and check ingredients yourself for allergens and dietary needs. You cook at your own risk.

Sous Plus subscription

Your content

You keep all rights to the recipes you import. You're responsible for having the right to use the content you paste or photograph — import recipes for your own personal cooking, the way you'd bookmark or print one. Your library is private to your account; Sous doesn't publish or share it.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the conversion service (automation, scraping at scale, reselling access), attempt to access other users' data, or use Sous for anything unlawful. We may suspend service in response to abuse.

Warranty & liability

Sous is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from use of the app, including cooking outcomes. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the past 12 months.

Changes & termination

We may update these terms (new versions posted here with a new effective date) and may discontinue the service. You can end the agreement anytime by deleting your account in the app (Settings → Delete My Data & Account) and canceling any subscription with Apple.
